Lasting ties with the academic and industrial worlds
GeM relies on a wide network of collaborations in France and abroad. These partnerships strengthen the quality and impact of its research, stimulate innovation and foster the transfer of knowledge to economic and societal sectors.
Chairs and joint laboratories
Long-term partnerships with industry, built around structuring research programmes.
ANR industrial chair
SEALENCE
Elastomer solutions for naval acoustics and watertight design
2024-2028 · Chair holder: Erwan Verron
The chair aims to develop predictive tools for the design of elastomer parts subjected to extreme conditions, particularly in the naval sector. It combines experiments, modelling and simulation to overcome a major scientific obstacle: understanding polymer compressibility.
Industrial chair
Faurecia – Centrale Nantes
Industrial composites for automotive applications
2011-2027 · Chair holder: Christophe Binetruy
Two main themes:
- processes for continuous-fibre composites for mass-production automotive applications;
- design tools for continuous-fibre composites, notably through computer-aided engineering and simulation.
Industrial chair
EDYCEM – Centrale Nantes
For sustainable construction
2015-2028 · Chair holder: Ahmed Loukili
Three main research themes:
- reducing the environmental footprint of concrete design;
- using artificial intelligence for next-generation concretes;
- contributing to the challenges of the city of tomorrow.
Joint laboratory
Joint Laboratory of Marine Technology (JLMT)
Centrale Nantes – Naval Group
2016-2028 · Laboratories: GeM and LHEEA
Created in 2016, the JLMT is a joint industry-research laboratory. It brings together the academic expertise of Centrale Nantes and the industrial expertise of Naval Group to develop innovations qualified for Naval Group’s applications in military shipbuilding.
