TRU Biomechanics – health of the future

The Thematic Research Unit of Biomechanics – health of the future focuses on multi-scale and multi-physics problems through a mechanical approach, complementary to the biological and chemical phenomena present in the human body, but also essential in the development of new materials for health or new therapeutic approaches.

Structure and biomechanical behaviour of the human body

Advanced materials for medicine

FACILITIES

  • Multi-scale characterization methods (SEM, TEM, AFM, etc.), in vitro, in vivo, in situ or post-mortem
  • Numerical methods (homogenization, Data Driven approach, mechano-probabilistic…)

FIELDS OF APPLICATION

  • Personalized medicine
  • Medical devices (especially in relation to orthopedics)
  • Regenerative medicine
  • Tissue engineering
  • Therapeutic treatments

ACADEMIC AND INDUSTRIAL COOPERATIONS
