Efficient numerical schemes

This axis focuses on the robustness, the precision and the efficiency of standard numerical approaches.

In particular, the guarantee of the stability of numerical schemes is crucial for the  incremental simulation of complex physics such as dynamic contact. Multigrid and restart strategies as well as load balances between computation nodes are studied. Finally,  reduced order models and surrogate models (low rank approximation for instance)  are nowadays widely used. Their construction must enable to decrease computational cost and also to guarantee the precision and to control the different associated errors.
