Non-standard numerical approaches

This axis is created to answer the limits of existing standard numerical approaches.

The development of Thick Level Set, intiated in GeM, is continued to improve its performances and ease its implementation. The combination of enrichment strategies such as X-FEM or Partition Unity MEthod with high order fictitious domain enables the development of robust numerical tools especially for complex geometries. Continuous particular methods are investigated in the context of multiphysic and large strain problems. Finally, the simulation of membranes, which involves many non-linearities, requires the creation of dedicated simplified models and associated numerical strategies.
