Abdelhamid HAFIDI, PhD student at GeM in co-tutorship with the Université de Sherbrooke, won first prize in the Je vends mon projet en 180s competition organised by the Association Béton Québec in early February 2025.
This competition challenged researchers and engineers to present their research project in three minutes in a clear, concise and captivating way.
Abdelhamid’s project, which focuses on predicting the behaviour of new construction materials using artificial intelligence, is part of an innovative approach aimed at improving the durability and performance of low-carbon concretes by combining machine learning techniques with the study of the rheological and mechanical properties of materials.
This success is also the result of international collaboration between the Université de Sherbrooke (Canada) and Centrale Nantes. This partnership has enabled the enrichment of methodological approaches and the integration of complementary perspectives, illustrating the importance of collaborative research on an international scale.
This thesis is supervised at Centrale Nantes by Ahmed Loukili and Benoît Hilloulin (GeM) and at the University of Sherbrooke by Ammar Yahia, as well as in collaboration with Ilhame Harbouz at the Université Polytechnique Mohammed VI.
