Measurement and sensors

Work on the design and development of sensors covers :

  • physical sensors, using fiber optics (index measurement, Bragg or Brillouin techniques) or strain gauges: point measurement of the strain tensor, linear measurement of uniaxial strain,
  • 2D (visible) or 3D (X-ray) imaging measurements, based on image correlation or material texture for underwater imaging: measurement of displacement fields (DIC), contours or surfaces (VIC) or stresses using data-driven methods (non-parametric approach to material characterization),
  • other specific sensors in particular for measuring electro-chemical phenomena for the degradation of porous materials.
