First article published in JTCAM – Journal of Theoretical, Computational and Applied Mechanics

A new era of scientific publishing in mechanics begins with the publication of the first article in JTCAM Journal of Theoretical, Computational and Applied Mechanics :

“Brittle material strength and fracture toughness estimation from four-point bending test” by Doitrand et al.

The Journal of Theoretical, Computational and Applied Mechanics is a Diamond Open Access overlay journal that focuses on significant contributions in the broad field of solid mechanics and the mechanics of materials and structures.

The journal seeks a balance between theoretical, computational, applied and experimental research. Topics of interest include damage and fracture, mechanics of materials, structural mechanics, computational methods in mechanics, nonlinear mechanics, constitutive modelling, dynamics, interface mechanics, fluid-solid interactions, multibody systems and biomechanics.

While rooted in mechanics, the journal strives to connect with a wide range of scientific disciplines beyond engineering, including applied mathematics, numerical methods, materials science, applied physics and geophysics.

Julien Réthoré, CNRS Research Director at GeM, is a member of the JTCAM Editorial Board.
Laurent Stainier, Professor at GeM, is a member of the Scientific Committee.
