Overview of the Platform and Its Expertise
Fibre-reinforced organic matrix composites offer mechanical properties combining strength, lightness and durability. Manufacturing and recycling composite materials requires advanced technological resources as well as in-depth knowledge to model, characterise and validate their performance. In this context, the PMC technology platform brings together qualified staff and experts with facilities for the manufacturing and physico-chemical characterisation of composite materials.
The Composite Materials and Processes Platform brings together a coherent set of equipment for processing fibre-reinforced organic matrix composites. The manufacturing facilities make it possible to study the multiphysics governing processes such as press or autoclave consolidation, vacuum infusion, resin transfer moulding (RTM) and Tailored Fibre Placement (TFP).
